NAKURU COUNTY POULTRY FARMERS
Nakuru County Poultry Farmers Enterprises was established in January 2016 as a registered business entity to implement the technical and commercial activities of the Nakuru County Poultry Farmers’ Cooperative Society. The enterprise currently operates in five counties: Nakuru, Nairobi, Kiambu, Tharaka Nithi, and Baringo. The organization focuses on supporting farmers in various areas of poultry agribusiness including egg production (layers breeding), meat production (broiler farming), hatchery services, poultry feed production, poultry equipment manufacturing, egg and meat processing, packaging, marketing, and poultry consultancy.
The enterprise also promotes the production and marketing of indigenous chicken breeds and their products. Through its initiatives, Nakuru County Poultry Farmers Enterprises has supported farmer groups and individual farmers to explore profitable agribusiness opportunities that contribute to increased incomes and improved livelihoods among rural communities within the target counties.
